Steel installation underway for last major section of World Trade Centre Memorial Plaza

The last section of steel for the Memorial Plaza is currently being erected at the former World Trade Centre site.

The construction, which started in September 2008, will see the final part of the last major section of the site put in place. By the end of this year less than five per cent of the Memorial Plaza steel will remain to be installed.

694 pieces of steel weighing 1,790 tons have been fitted to fill in the south west corner of the Memorial, which have been installed over the PATH railway lines.
