Skanska scoops £72M LU bridges contract

NCE

Skanska has won a London Underground bridge maintenance contract worth up to £72M.

The five year contract will see Skanska carrying out inspections, general maintenance and repairs for bridges on the SSL surface lines - Hammersmith and City, District, Circle and Metropolitan lines – and the BCV lines - Bakerloo, Central and Victoria lines. The JNP lines – Jubliee, Northern and Piccadilly – are not included in the contract.

The contract is valued from £45M to £72M and has the potential to be extended for a further three years Transport for London (TfL) said.

Skanska operations director James Holmes said: “It’s great to be continuing our relationship with Transport for London on another long-term contract. The last six years has seen the contract evolve. With the introduction of new techniques and technology we have improved the efficiency of the service we deliver with these innovations.

“We look forward to working with TfL to further improve the way that civils maintenance is delivered on the London Underground.”
