Skanska has agreed a seven year highways maintenance contract with Somerset County Council worth £175M.
The contract covers structural and routine maintenance, emergency services and maintenance design. Skanska will put the first two years of revenue from the deal, worth £50M, into its first quarter order book for 2017.
It is the fourth time Skanska has won the contract and the working relationship between the two goes back to 1996, making it one of the longest running partnerships in the UK. The last contract was agreed in 2010.
The contract will run from 1 April 2017 to 31 March 2024, with extension options for up to a further three years.
