RSK completes 10th acquisition in a year

Beating the blue monday blues 2

RSK has completed its 10th acquisition in a year, snapping up environmental and geotechnical engineering firm Dr Tillmanns & Partner.

The acquisition is the latest in an expansion programme aimed at doubling the company’s size. In December 2018, RSK announced that Ares Capital Europe had helped it to raise the finance it needs for the programme.

Tillmanns specialises in soil and groundwater contamination, rehabilitation planning and monitoring, landfill technology and planning, subsoil investigations, geothermics, hydrogeology and soil mechanics.

RSK founder and chief executive officer Alan Ryder said more acquisitions were on the horizon for RSK.

“I’m really pleased to see this acquisition, which I hope will be the first of several as we invest in our European businesses and expand in Europe over the next few years,” Ryder said. “Dr Tillmanns & Partner is a great business with a very strong site investigation offer, which will help to strengthen and diversify our existing business in Germany. Dr Tillmanns & Partner has a well-earned reputation and long-established relationships with its clients.”

The existing managing directors of Tillmans will remain in post, and other RSK executives will join the Tillmanns board to assist the company in its transition.

Tillmanns and Partner founder Dr Wolfgang Tillmanns said the sale to RSK would give the company further room for growth.

“I am very happy that the company has been passed into the trustworthy hands of RSK – a growing privately owned geo-environmental group that will give Dr Tillmanns & Partner new opportunities for growth,” he said. “The company managing directors Bernd Braun and Ottmar Sistenich are looking forward to working collaboratively with RSK Alenco and the rest of the group and are excited to be part of RSK’s growth in Germany.”

Other recent acquisitions by RSK include Can, the company behind the new Tottenham Hotspur football stadium roof and civils consultant CWA.
