Renovated rail bridge reopens

Barrhead stn bridge

A £1M project to renovate the rail bridge at Barrhead station has been completed.

The job involved grit-blasting old paint and rust off the steelwork, before repairing and strengthening the metal and repainting.

Network Rail project manager for the renovation works Jeremy Spence said: “The work we were undertaking was vital to the long-term operation of the railway. We understand the inconvenience the work caused to motorists and some residents and we thank them for their patience throughout this project.”
