RCEA goes online

Railway engineers can now keep up to date with the Railway Civil Engineers Association (RCEA) through a new website.

Go to www.rcea.info to find out about the association and its upcoming meetings. There is a special members’ area and links to other sites of use to railway civil engineers.

The 300-strong association is on a recruitment drive for new members, particularly young members. Chairman Tony Walker said: “The most effective way of communicating with the young is to have a website.

“We want people to tell us what else they want on the website so please get in touch,” Walker adds. As an attraction to young professionals civil engineers not yet chartered working in rail, membership of the association is now free. Cost to chartered civil engineers is £30.

The next meeting is on 28 May when Network Rail’s Simon Maple will be talking about the West Coast Main Line upgrade.
