Phi gets stuck into M60 retaining wall

Keller UK’s retaining wall division Phi Group and Keller Geotechnique are involved in ground retention works on a 6ha site next to the M60 motorway at Stockport.

The £350,000 contract for main contractor VolkerFitzpatrick involves installing 460 soil nails of between 7m and 11m in length on a 65˚ slope over an area of 450m2. Phi is also installing its Textomur geotextile over 1,380m2 of the slope using reinforcement between 3m and 6.5m long.

The site is being jointly developed by Helical Bar and Chancerygate. It will house industrial and warehouse facilities. Phi’s work started in August and is due to be completed this month.
