The Olympic Park Legacy Company (OPLC) has today announced that it has awarded key operator and maintenance contracts for the Aquatics Centre, Handball Arena and the ArcelorMittal Orbit.
Contractor Balfour Beatty has won a 10-year deal to run services and facilities for the Olympic Park in a deal that will see it also having responsibility for operating the ArcelorMittal Orbit
The contract value is £50M over the next 10 years, although further scope extensions under discussion between Balfour Beatty WorkPlace and the OPLC may see the long-term value of the wider Olympic Park work grow significantly beyond the initial operational phase. The first phase starts with the opening of this summer’s Olympic Games.
Greenwich Leisure will operate the Aquatics Centre and the Multi-Use Arena, currently know as the Handball Arena.
