Obituary: Neil Taylor, 1931-2011

A memorial service was held for former Gifford partner Neil Taylor on Monday 15 August at Macclesfield Crematorium.

Taylor began his Gifford career in 1960 after spells at Tarmac, WC Andrews and Hoveringham Concrete of Nottingham.

At Gifford’s Southampton office he made his mark working on numerous school and hospital structures including the London St Georges Hospital, and schemes in Chester, where Taylor established the firm’s first branch office.

A Fellow of the ICE, the Institution of Structural Engineers, and Companion of the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers, Taylor leaves wife Pat and sons Stephen, Michael and David.
