McNaughton joins French consultant Systra

Andrew McNaughton

Former Balfour Beatty Civil Engineering chief executive Andrew McNaughton has joined French engineering consultancy Systra Group.

McNaughton, who recently stepped down as engineering director at Tidal Lagoon Power, has been appointed as chief operating officer at Systra.

Tidal Lagoon Power, developer of the Swansea Bay Tidal Lagoon, confirmed McNaughton had left the role last week after being with the company for a year.

Systra specialises in transport infrastructure and projects currently include a joint venture with Mott MacDonald to be the design partners supporting the Balfour Beatty and Vinci joint venture bidding for the delivery of High Speed 2.

SNCF executive board chairman and supervisory board member for Systra Guillaume Pepy said: “The appointment of Andrew McNaughton as chief operating officer marks a new chapter in Systra’s history. By including a British national in the senior management team, Systra’s shareholders have confirmed their commitment to the group’s international expansion”
