Mace to build Olympic legacy towers

Mace East Village 2by3

Mace is to build two housing towers at the site of the London 2012 Athletes’ Village.

The contractor behind the Shard will deliver the 30 and 26-storey blocks at East Village for developers Delancey and Qatari Diar.

East Village in Stratford already contains more than 2,800 homes, and a further 2,000 are planned, of which this scheme will create 482.

Mace was a delivery partner for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games as well as playing a key role in the post-Games transformation of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

Mace director Mark Buckle said: “Our commitment to the Games lives on, and we are keen to make sure its legacy thrives.

”The residential sector is at the hub of Mace’s construction business and we are delighted to have been appointed to deliver one of the most prestigious residential developments in London.”
