Jacobs wins deal to design Etihad rail line

037

Jacobs has won a contract to provide engineering and design services for a 900km railway in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The technical services firm will review the detailed designs and provide construction supervision for the entire project.

The Etihad Rail Project will cross the UAE from the border of Saudi Arabia to the border of Oman, running from Ghweifat to Abu Dhabi, Dubai and the Northern Emirates.

Jacobs buildings, infrastructure and advanced facilities president Bob Pragada said: “We were able to bring together the combined technical resources and synergies of Jacobs and our recently acquired CH2M team that presents a fully-integrated service offering for this world-class rail project.

“This included accessing the best talent across the breadth of our global network, coupled with a strong local presence provided by Jacobs in the UAE.”

The network will connect with the other Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC) countries, which includes Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman as part of the planned GCC network.
