High Speed 2 is recruiting a commissioner to investigate any issues that arise during the project’s construction.
The scope of the role includes leading on independent investigations relating to construction of the line, reassuring the public that they are there to help mediate on any disputes and raising awareness of points of contact in the event of a dispute.
HS2 Ltd managing director for construction Jim Crawford said: “We want to be a good neighbour throughout the time we build this vital new rail network. A Code of Construction Practice will also be put in place as we look to minimise disruption to local residents and businesses. But if there are any problems we want people to be reassured that there is an independent commissioner they can look to for additional help.”
The recruitment process has already started.
