Key figures from Heathrow and Gatwick will go head-to-head over their rival expansion plans at an event in London later this month.

Heathrow strategy director Emma Gilthorpe and Gatwick corporate affairs and sustainability director Charles Kirwan-Taylor will speak in the same session at the New Civil Engineer Airports conference.

The pair will give their responses to the recommendations of the Sir Howard Davies led Airports Commission as the government nears a decision on where to provide extra capacity for the South East.

Elsewhere at the must-attend event, Civil Aviation Authority chief executive Andrew Haines will give the regulator’s perspective on airport capacity.

Tthe event will also cover regional perspectives, with key speakers from Manchester Airports Group, London Luton Airport, Dublin Airport and Southampton Airport.

A flavour of international best practice will be provided by Bernardo Gogna, senior vice president of global aviation at Aecom, who will give an update on creation of Istanbul’s six-runway megahub.

The New Civil Engineer Airports conference takes place at the America Square Conference Centre on 25 and 26 May. Book your place here.
