Former ICE DG Foulkes is now OBE in New Year’s honours

Former ICE director general Tom Foulkes has been given an OBE.

Foulkes, who left his role in December and is now chairman of regeneration group Victoria Business Improvement District, is among the construction and engineering names recognised in the New Year honours list.

ODA chairman

Olympic Delivery Authority chairman John Armitt has received a knighthood - the highest honour - while director of construction Howard Shiplee was awarded a CBE.

ICE President Richard Coackley, said: “we congratulate Tom on his very well deserved OBE - it is a sound reflection of his excellent work in bringing more direction to the engineering profession and his commitment has spanned over and above his ICE director general role. This is an exciting time for our industry, and for Tom, a special end to his ten years at the Institution.”
