Costain appoints new chairman

Costain Chairman Paul Golby 2by3

Costain has named former Eon chief executive Paul Golby as its next chairman.

Golby, currently a non executive director at National Grid, will succeed David Allvey on 5 May.

Costain revealed last month that its revenue and operating profit rose in 2015.

Golby, who has been chairman of the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council for four years, said: “I am honoured to have been asked to join Costain as chairman.

“It is a great British engineering success story with a strong heritage, outstanding brand and strong market positions.

”I look forward to playing a part in delivering further success as the group accelerates its growth agenda.”
