Construction Industry Council offers careers resources

The Construction Industry Council (CIC) is the representative forum for the professional bodies, research organisations and specialist business associations in the construction industry.

In addition, CIC represents the views of the higher level of the industry (professional, managerial and technical) in ConstructionSkills – the Sector Skills Council for Construction.

ConstructionSkills (CS) is a partnership between CIC, CITB-ConstructionSkills and CITB-ConstructionSkills Northern Ireland.

Through this partnership, the CIC-CS team have developed a number of educational resources, which can be downloaded for free via the resources section of the CICskills website .

These include:

  • A careers pack entitled “A Professional Career in the Built Environment” an exploration of professional career routes including civil, structural and building services engineering.
  • A DVD/online video called “Building Visions” featuring a diverse range or practitioners talking about their careers and projects.
  • An interactive careers route map showing the various progression routes that can be taken via study and work related learning to achieve your goals. This can be accessed via
