CH2M’s HS2 contract delayed amid Mace challenge

HS2 High Speed Rail

CH2M was today supposed to sign its latest High Speed 2 contract, however the signing has now been deferred so that the route developer, HS2 Ltd, can meet with rival Mace.

Mace is understood to be considering a legal challenge to HS2 Ltd’s decision to appoint CH2M as development partner for phase 2b of the project.

It has requested information about the process for the contract award from HS2 Ltd, to which HS2 Ltd has replied. Now the two parties are due to meet next week.

“We understand the need to maintain confidence in the process, so we’ve agreed to meet with them,” said a spokesperson for HS2 Ltd.
