Bison wins precast order for Welsh football stadium

Precast manufacturer’s experience with major stadium projects helped it win job.

Bison Manufacturing is providing precast concrete products for a multi-million pound stadium development in Bangor, Wales.

Bison will manufacture and install six sets of its precast concrete staircases, as well as 81 terrace units and 40 concrete step blocks at the new home of Welsh Premier League champions, Bangor City Football Club.

Main contractor Watkins Jones chose Bison as precast concrete supplier after it impressed with its extensive portfolio of successful terrace stadium projects.

These include Wembley Stadium, Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium and more recently Newport Gwent Dragons’ Rodney Parade stadium.

Speedy delivery and installation

“Having previously worked alongside Bison on a number of projects, we are very much aware of their excellent record in combining a high quality product with speedy delivery and quick installation for a range of stadium projects,” said Watkin Jones quantity surveyor Richard Owen.

The Bangor City order underlines Bison’s ability to provide bespoke configurations of pre-cast concrete stair units for a variety of individual requirements.

Bison’s off-site manufacturing process has meant that the company has an impressive health and safety record, thanks to a reduction in the number of staff required on-site.

Bangor City is scheduled to move into its new home later this month.
