Balmforth’s expertise on TV and radio

Recent flooding and heavy rain have given the ICE the opportunity to reinforce its message that government investment in flood defences must continue, and that more must be done to make communities more flood resilient.

ICE flooding expert and vice president David Balmforth was interviewed on BBC Radio 4, the BBC’s News channel, the BBC 10 o’clock news, Sky News and BBC South East’s Inside Out programme. ICE’s messages have also been aired across the regions, with clips from Balmforth’s BBC Radio 4 interview featuring in the hourly news bulletins on 27 regional BBC radio stations.

Comments from ICE Wales Cymru regional director Keith Jones also led to an interview on BBC Radio Wales and articles in key Welsh newspapers including the Western Mail. Collectively, the ICE’s efforts on flooding resulted in 44 media hits - 36 of these on television and radio.
