Balfour Beatty wins US tower scheme

Balfour tower Washington DC 2by3 GP

Balfour Beatty Construction is to build a 13-storey housing tower in the US.

The company was awarded a contract for the residential building in the NoMa neighbourhood of Washington DC.

Balfour will construct a 346-unit concrete-framed structure at 33 N Street NE for developer Wood Partners.

The luxury homes will sit above a three-level parking garage with 210 spaces. Other features will include a fitness centre, a club room, co-working space, a rooftop pool and a dog park.

Balfour Beatty Construction project executive Bryan Frady said: “We have a great history working with Wood Partners, particularly in the South East region, and we’re excited to be their construction partner for the first time in the Mid-Atlantic region.

“Our team has been deeply involved on this project throughout the pre-construction phase and will continue leveraging the latest technologies and lean construction methodologies to deliver this tremendous project.”
