Latest construction orders statistics released

Orders in the twelve months to July 2006 rose by 8% compared with the previous 12 months, and orders in the three months to July 2006 rose by 6% compared to the same period a year earlier.
Orders in the three months to July 2006 rose by 16% compared to the previous three months, with increases in infrastructure, private commercial and private housing more than offsetting decreases in public housing, public non-housing and private industrial sectors. Infrastructure orders in the 12 months to July decreased by 9% compared with the previous 12. Orders in the three months to July rose by 34% compared with the previous three months, but fell by 39% compared to the same period a year earlier.
