Latchways

Latchways is cleaning up at Europe's airports. The company's ManSafe system has been installed at Stansted's octagonal tower by Unistrut to make window cleaning safe. Latchways systems are already in use at Stuttgart, Frankfurt and Hamburg.

MVA Information Systems is working with Birmingham International Airport to tackle community concerns about noise and other environmental issues. The consultant has installed its MVA Community Manager software, which compares flight path data, taken from the airport's radar system, with the geographic pattern of concerns from the local community.

Burks Green and Fitzpatrick are working on a £15M design and build scheme at East Midlands airport to provide 165,000m2 of concrete aprons and taxiways, 18 aircraft stands, and realignment of a section of the A453.

The new runway at Manchester has produced the largest order for ductile iron access covers and gratings for airports in 10 years in an order worth more than £1M.
