Landslip closes northbound A21

Geotechnical investigations are underway on the A21 in Kent to establish the cause of a landslip that has closed one lane of the road.

The Highways Agency has put traffic control on a 500m section of the road to the north of Lamberhurst to investigate the landslip that has resulted in the carriageway settling by 450mm.

It is hoped that the investigation will enable temporary repairs to be carried out in order for the road to reopen while designs for a permanent solution are developed.
