Transport secretary Alistair Darling this week officially opened Edinburgh airport's new air traffic control tower. The £11M building was constructed in 15 months and stands 57m high. The project is part of BAA's £100M three year investment programme at the airport. Contractor was Laing O'Rourke, engineer was Arup and the architect was Reid Architecture.
