Lafarge Tarmac awarded £70M highways contract

Contractor Lafarge Tarmac has this week been awarded a highways contract worth up to £70M by Halton and Warrington Borough Councils.

The contractor will be responsible for surfacing, emergency response, winter maintenance and schemes for both local authorities. The contract is worth £7M per year and last for six years with an option to extend for another four years.

“This is the latest in a string of major contract wins for Lafarge Tarmac,” said the contractor’s managing director of contracting Paul Fleetham. “It demonstrates the strength of our offer and the proven experience we have of working in partnership with councils to deliver managed highways services.”

Work will begin for Halton in June 2013 and Warrington in April 2014.
