Building materials supplier Lafarge has posted a 5% increase in revenue for the first half of this year.
The company recorded sales of €7.6bn (£5.94bn) in the six months to June 2012 – up from £5.7bn in the same period the previous year.
Lafarge’s operating income before depreciation and amortization on tangible and intangible assets was up 8% to £1.2bn.
Bruno Lafont, chairman and chief executive officer of Lafarge, said: “Economic conditions remain challenging for many parts of the world and we remain prudent on our outlook.
“But even in a lower growth volume environment, our actions to generate sales growth and cash, and to improve returns, led to a third consecutive quarter of positive trends.”
