Labour: one year on Public Private Partnerships

Labour had promised to shake up the Tories' Private Finance Initiative, and they certainly moved quickly - newly appointed Paymaster General Geoffrey Robinson revealing a 12 point action plan during Labour's second week in office.

Action has been focused on the health sector, where New Labour succeeded in unblocking the log jam of new hospitals, and local authorities, where councils are finding the learning curve unsurprisingly steep.
