The Los Angeles Metropolitan Transportation Authority has voted to suspend work on three of its new lines for at least six months in a bid to halt escalating costs. All work on the Eastside, Mid-City and Pasadena projects has been put on hold, and sources believe the move could herald the end of subway construction in the city. Work on the North Hollywood Red Line extension is not affected.
