Arsenal Football Club this week confirmed it has secured a £260M loan to fund its new stadium at Ashburton Grove. Contractor Sir Robert McAlpine began to establish the site last month in preparation for this week's official go ahead (NCE 22 January). A funding gap of around £50M is believed to have held work up last year. The club aims to have the £400M stadium built in time for the start of the 2006/2007 season.
