KBR to manage Hinkley equipment supply

Hinkley C

US engineering firm KBR has won a contract with EDF Energy for project management services at Hinkley Point C.

The framework-style contract, on a reimbursable rates footing, includes site operations management and contract management for the equipment supply chain, as well as materials tracking.

The project will be delivered by KBR’s UK division, operating from its headquarters in Leatherhead, Surrey.

The supply chain for the Somerset nuclear project has more than 100 international suppliers and contractors.

“The announcement is a testament to KBR’s capability and track record in delivering large-scale projects and represents a key stepping stone in line with our strategy to secure long-term enduring contracts and to grow our business stream in the UK,” said KBR president and chief executive Stuart Bradie.
