Judith Armit announced as new chief executive of the Thames Gateway

Ruth Kelly, Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government,

has today confirmed the appointment of Judith Armitt, as the new chief executive of the Thames Gateway.

Armit will be responsible for driving the delivery of the Thames Gateway regeneration programme. She will take on overall responsibility for the Thames Gateway strategy and co-ordination of Thames Gateway growth and investment strategies across government and its partner agencies.Armit is currently chief executive of Medway Council,Ruth Kelly said. 'Judith has a proven track record of leadership and delivering high profile projects at Medway and will bring valuable skills and experience to this new role.'
