Johnston & Mather

New course development doesn't get that much more proactive than putting on courses overseas as opposed to waiting for the overseas students to come to you.

This is exactly what southwest London based training provider Johnston & Mather is doing. Director of the Barnes-based firm James Mather said: 'We have just done some work in Africa on infrastructure and privatisation and generally we are increasing activity in providing training overseas. We are finding that is the expanding market at the moment.' Project anagement courses continue to be a mainstay of the construction related courses Johnston & Mather provide, 'The course that has been performing best is construction management, ' said Mather.

'But we are finding the main market for that is overseas and the UK is relatively quiet.

One subject he believes is on an upward cycle is risk management and he has high hopes for J&M's newly developed construction risk management course which is waiting for accreditation.'It's becoming a bigger area of activity as companies develop their systems, ' he says.
