John Laing, specialist owner, operator and manager of public sector infrastructure assets, has appointed Phil Nolan as an independent non-executive chairman.

Nolan said: “I am delighted to be joining John Laing as chairman. John Laing has established an enviable reputation as a market leader with over 160 years of experience. I look forward to working with the board and the executive to build on that heritage and to create significant shareholder value in the future.”

Nolan is currently chairman of Infinis, electronics firm Sepura.

From 2002-2006, he was chief executive of Eircom, Ireland’s national telecommunications supplier.
