Job spot

Working lives - Parsons Brinckerhoff's Professional Growth Network helps its staff realise their full potential.

Kiwi Richard Hickman came to the UK as a graduate engineer and now works for Parsons Brinckerhoff as an integration engineer on Transport for London's East London Line project.

He has been involved with the project since tender stage and expects to work on it until the first trains roll across the capital.

Hickman cut his teeth on the West Coast Route Modernisation.

He says his career has been propelled along by PB's Professional Growth Network, which provides mentoring by senior staff and information about the company's wider activities.

'It has also provided me with a platform from which to develop either as a technical specialist or as a project manager, ' Hickman says.

With the Olympics and Crossrail on the horizon, Hickman is positive about his future.
