JCB role on Brazilian ring road

Tunnelling work on a new ringroad around São Paulo in Brazil is being fast tracked by contractor Toniolo Busnello with delivery of four new JCB 535-125 Loadalls.

The new machines, which can lift 3.5t to 12.5m, are all fitted with platforms to enable construction workers to position the explosives ahead of blasting. After the detonation, the operative use the Loadalls to position the tunnel supports.

The 177km ring road is due for completion in 2014.
