It's a wrap

Winn & Coales (Denso) (0181) 670 7511

Fleetwood-based contractor FK Preston has applied the Winn & Coales SeaShield 80 system to 18 jetty piles in the port of Fleetwood, Lancashire.

The piles form four dolphin ramps where ro-ro ferries tie up, and were showing visible signs of corrosion after nearly 30 years.

SeaShield 80 consists of a petrolatum-based primer over-wrapped by a petrolatum-coated tape. This is protected by a spiral wrap of rubber bitumen/pvc laminate tape.
