Itmsoil secures Victoria and Albert basement monitoring contract

Itmsoil has announced that Wates Construction has appointed it to undertake the monitoring work for a major extension of London’s Victoria and Albert Museum.

The redevelopment of the museum includes construction of a 15m deep basement adjacent to existing Victorian buildings built on shallow foundation and sensitive facades.

Itm will install the monitoring system to a design specified by Arup to ensure that construction activities are carefully controlled to mitigate any possible damage and to provide assurance to stakeholders.

Construction work on the scheme is expected to start later this month and be completed in late 2016.
