Is ICE membership just a meal ticket?

Two letters imply that ICE members who do not participate in ICE activities, including voting, are not committed to the ICE or insult graduate members by not voting on graduate/technician rights (NCE last week).

This only represents a particular and narrow point of view. It could be that the members who do not participate in ICE activities consider the ICE and its activities are irrelevant to them.

It is possible that many members consider that membership of the ICE is a necessary 'licence' required for gaining and maintaining employment.
