Investigations at Sellafield reveal 'serious deficiencies'


Investigations at Sellafield following a radioactive leak in the Thorpe reprocessing plant discovered in April have revealed 'serious deficiencies'. The Nuclear Investigations Inspectorate has demanded improvements to leak detection systems and measures to ensure detection equipment is maintained.

Plant operator British Nuclear Group has until October to implement the orders.
