Interserve completes £32M Leeds West Academy

Contractor Interserve has completed construction of the £32M Leeds West Academy for client Leeds City Council this week.

Under a design and build contract, the firm has constructed a new 1,200 pupil academy, with a four-court sports hall, fitness suite, activity studio and theatre.

Engineers have constructed a concrete and steel frame structure rendered and partly brick clad. The building has achieved Breeam Excellent rating and a Class A rating for energy efficiency.

The building has been delivered through the Leeds local enterprise partnership but was originally part of the Leeds Building Schools for the Future programme.
