International construction services company Keller Group


International construction services company Keller Group ended the Millennium with pre-tax profits up 14% to £19M in the year ended 31 December 1999. Turnover rose to £314.9M up 18% on the previous year. The company said improved performance in Continental Europe, particularly Germany and Austria, and North America was the main reason for the results.

New guidance on underground services hazards has been issued by the Health & Safety Executive. A new booklet is aimed at those working with excavation and underground projects such as utilities, roadworks, construction and demolition.

The Construction Best Practice Programme is seeking construction industry professionals for a one year secondment at a salary equivalent to current earnings. Successful applicants will work on uncovering innovations in partnering benchmarking and cultural change.


The Association of Consulting Engineers has called for capital allowances on industrial building upgrades to be extended to commercial properties in a Budget submission to the Chancellor of the Exchequer.
