Instrument acquisition

GEOTECHNICAL FIRM Instrumentation, Testing and Monitoring has bought manufacturer Soil Instruments.

Both ITM and Soil Instruments will continue to function as separate companies within a new group structure called ITM-Soil. This will be run jointly by ITM directors Jon Scott and Chris Rasmussen.

The acquisition will combine ITM's contracting skills with Soil Instrument's established manufacturing experience.

'We aim to expand the contracting business, invest in product development and increase overseas sales, ' said Scott.

ITM will remain at its Forest Row, East Sussex, base until the end of the year when the two operations will be combined at Soil Instruments' facilities at Uckfield, East Sussex.
