Infrastructure Show attracts BAA and Crossrail support

Major clients Crossrail and BAA have confirmed their support for this year’s Infrastructure Show, the dedicated event for the UK civils sector.

Big hitters

They will be actively involved in two of the show’s top attractions, the Rail and Airport Hubs.

“We are excited that Crossrail and BAA will be using the show to discuss their major projects and best practice,” said event director Rob Lozowski. “Their leadership, expertise and willingness to talk with the supply chain is incredibly significant and valuable.

“As the national forum for the civil engineering community, The Infrastructure Show is not just setting the agenda for the sector but is working with its major players to share knowledge, deal with the issues and drive it forward.”

Crossrail will be at the heart of The Infrastructure Show’s Rail Hub. Programme director Andy Mitchell lead a series of talks in the Rail Hub on Monday 17 October, explaining how the project is being delivered to reduce the risk of cost overruns and delays. Crossrail procurement and strategic directors will also be on hand to answer questions and to network.

BAA will also play a key role in the event’s Airports Hub, contributing project information and top speakers such as project leader Phil Wilbraham.

BAA will also lead a number of important sessions in the new keynote theatre. Infrastructure programme director Chris Elliott will speak on how collaboration can reduce project costs while master plan and capacity director Sean Horkan will present on the innovation needed to meet the UK’s infrastructure needs.

Other high-profile presenters already confirmed to take part in the keynote theatre programme include CH2M Hill Europe managing director Roy Hill and Institution of Structural Engineers president Roger Plank.

The Infrastructure Show is run in association with NCE. The ICE is official event partner and will join NCE in a special industry recruitment focus session on Wednesday 19 October.
