Infrastructure orders up 16%

Figures released by the Department for Business Enterprise and Regulatory Reform show orders for infrastructure work up 16%.

The data covers orders for the 12 months to November 2007. Overall, new construction orders have risen 1% on the year before, dragged down by a poorly performing industrial sector.

The figures also show that infrastructure orders in the last quarter of the period rose by 27% compared to the same period in 2006.
