Informal tone to Euro conference

THE EUROPEAN local associations network is inviting all ICE members throughout Europe to attend its 12th annual conference to be held in Switzerland from 17-21 May.

The event is run as a nonprofit making venture by the local associations and will cover many aspects of civil engineering from the spectacular CERN particle accelerator (see page 10) to dams, bridges, airports and golf courses.

Lectures and visits have been organised across the breadth of the country, and there is an interesting alternative sightseeing programme for partners.

Participants may join and leave freely throughout the five day event, the only cost being travel to/from Switzerland, hotel and main meal expenses.

All other expenses, including travel within Switzerland, will be funded by the ICE, the British Embassy, and sponsoring companies.
