In pictures: M1 bridge permanent repairs due to begin

Permanant repairs to the fire-damaged bridge in north London is are to start next week and is due to finish by Christmas.

Connect Plus — a consortium consisting of contractor Balfour Beatty, contractor Skanska, consultant Atkins and investment partner Egis — is responsible for maintaining this section of the M1 as part of the £6.2bn M25 PFI and will begin carrying out repairs this week.
