In brief

A recreation of a dinner to honour steam engine pioneer and past ICE president Robert Stephenson was held recently at the Castle hotel in Conwy, north Wales, exactly 150 years after the inventor of 'The Rocket' was toasted at the same venue.

The South Wales Association has set up an information help line to keep members updated on events.

The number is 01222 763 310.
