In brief: Welsh Bridges to the Elbe

A new book, Welsh Bridges to the Elbe, describes the Royal Engineer 53rd (Welsh) Division bridge building in Northern France during the north west Europe campaign of 1944-45.

The author, John H Roberts, aims to present the serious role played by engineers during war, and draws on the experiences of those who were responsible for establishing peace and infrastructure at the end of the war.
