In brief Disassembly of the Brent Spar

Disassembly of the Brent Spar, Shell UK's infamous oil storage buoy, started last week with removal of its 1,600t topside structure using a massive crane barge. It will be recycled in Norway at a cost of 23M to 26M, with sections of the 120m tall hull incorporated into a new quay at Mekjarvik ferry terminal, Norway.
